Story
Origami Room is an AR-enhanced escape room prototype that blends physical paper folding with digital game progression.
Built using Vuforia and Unity, the game requires players to print real-world origami paper, fold items based on in-game instructions, and present them to the camera to unlock progress.
Features
-
Hybrid gameplay: Combines real-world origami with digital puzzles.
-
AR recognition system: Uses Vuforia to detect hand-folded objects and activate in-game triggers.
-
Educational utility: Players learn basic origami techniques while solving escape sequences.
-
Paper assets are printable; interaction depends on real object reconstruction and camera feedback.
-
The project was originally built as a technical prototype to test real-world object guidance, user instruction clarity, and AR scanning reliability within Unity and Vuforia.
Development Note
Origami Room was developed as a technical experiment exploring tactile interaction and AR object recognition.
A working Android prototype is available, but due to compatibility issues and device limitations, it is no longer actively maintained.
Currently, the project is paused. Future development may resume under collaborative or funded opportunities, focusing on AR refinement and cross-device compatibility.

Note: The last available version supports Android 6.0+. Device performance may vary.
